The French Institute for the Near East
and the French Embassy in Jordan are pleased to announce the launch of the “Safar” Jordan Scholarship for the year 2024.
The deadline for applications is May 15, 2024.
(Proficiency in French is not a requirement to apply for the scholarship)
In 2023, the French Embassy in Jordan and the French Institute for the Near East (IFPO) launched the “Safar” program to support the mobility of Jordanian students or those residing in Jordan wishing to pursue a Doctorate degree in social and human sciences at a French university. The Safar program aims to enhance academic cooperation between Jordan and France at the postgraduate level.
The Safar program for the year 2024 offers a second PhD scholarship for a duration of 3 years, funded by the French Embassy in Jordan and the French Institute for the Near East - IFPO. The doctoral thesis work is to alternate between stays in France and Jordan, and the subject of the thesis must fall within the fields of work of the French Institute for the Near East, covering social and human sciences in Jordan and the Near East, from prehistoric times to the contemporary era. The proposed thesis topic must contribute to building and developing knowledge regarding the Near East region.
