For over a year, Orange Jordan has been carrying out one of the main pillars of the Group’s strategic plan for the Middle East and Africa, namely, automating secure and easy to use payment services. Orange’s e-Wallet service utilizes the latest technologies and the company’s modern networks to help everyone; all users of mobile services in Jordan, whether those operated by Orange or others, via more than 800 sales points including Orange Jordan’s stores across the Kingdom.
This service goes in line with the government’s mission to enhance financial inclusion rates in Jordan and raise awareness about it in the community.
By offering the latest services in the local market that employs high technologies, Orange Jordan reaffirms its position as an international company with a local spirit.
With the activation of the new service, Jordan has joined Orange’s operators in 17 countries that are running Orange money. By becoming the 18th country to offer Orange’s e-wallet service, users in Jordan line up with 45 million customers of Orange services across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Orange Group has supported the development of mobile e- payment sector and enhanced financial inclusion in these countries over +11 years to get to achieve this progress.
This financial solution is not offered to serve a certain segment of the society. Therefore, Orange Jordan has taken the necessary measures to deliver it to all users in the simplest possible ways, by establishing Petra Company for Mobile Payment Services - Orange Money, Orange Jordan’s operational arm that executes this important project.
The company completed all official requirements stipulated in Jordanian legislature and obtained the Central Bank’s e-payment services provider license to offer e-payment services via the Mobile payment system (JoMoPay).
Orange Money has conducted several important strategic partnerships to make this service a viable reality for the good of everyone by which it has made major steps towards meeting customers’ in a relatively short time.
Gate to Pay, the leading provider of financial solutions has developed Orange Money’s software and system through which customers can open e-wallets and issue Visa cards, which are accepted internationally and locally. The VISA cards are linked to the e-wallets, in addition to anti-money laundry system.
For the purposes of launching e-Wallets services, Orange Money has signed a strategic agreement with the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, under which the bank settles Orange Money transactions and users can withdraw and deposit cash directly from the bank’s ATMs without using VISA cards.
Orange Jordan aims to make the best use of the latest technologies and solutions to develop a set of e-services that save users’ time and effort, and to encourage people to adopt high tech to complete their transactions.
Orange Money has signed a strategic partnership with the Jordan Post, to enhance the prevalence of e-payment services among users. This agreement is expected to facilitate transactions (withdrawals, deposits, payments, etc.) that are completed via the e-wallet.
To enhance the concept of e-payment, the company informed users about the service and its importance by conducting an awareness campaign and publishing ads on all platforms.
